Back in late September, I made my first political donation ever. I had been planning on donating to Obama's campaign for awhile, so when I logged on to his site one day and saw that you got a free car magnet with a minimum donation, I was sold. I even added money to the minimum amount.

But, then I didn't get my magnet. And I didn't get it. If I'd bought merchandise from the site, it would have taken 6-8 days for delivery - I figured it was on its way, or that because I donated more than the minimum amount, it got lost in the shuffle. Whatever, it wasn't like I had only donated to get the magnet - if that was the case, I would have just bought one outright.

After several weeks of idly checking the mail to see if it'd arrived, I stopped thinking about it. Until today, the day after the election. When I went through my mail to find - the car magnet. The bright side is that it doesn't say '08 on it anywhere; I can slap it on my car now and if it's still around in 2012, it will serve as my non-permanent bumper sticker then.
